Ear wax removal (microsuction)
Excessive or impacted ear wax can cause discomfort and hearing loss. It can also interfere with the normal operation of hearing aids. Traditional methods of removal, such as syringing, may sometimes be effective but carry inconvenience, such as administering oil for several weeks before treatment; and risks, such as damage to the ear drum and/or ear pain.
Microsuction is different because it is usually a ‘same day’ treatment. The ear wax and the ear canal remain in clear vision for the practitioner throughout the procedure and this improves the efficiency of the clearance as well as significantly reducing risk. Most microsuction treatments are 100% successful at the first time of asking and microsuction is considered the gold standard technique for ear wax removal.
Microsuction is commonly used to remove ear wax and foreign bodies by the majority of Ear, Nose and Throat Outpatient Clinics and djB hearing ltd can offer this treatment quickly, without GP referral, either at one of our clinic locations or in the comfort of your own home. Our fees for this service are £60 (one or both ears).
